What Should I expect from my first session?
-
Arrival and Welcome: You'll be greeted by a receptionist or esthetician who will ask you to fill out a brief intake form. We offer complimentary snacks, tea, water, and coffee while you fill out your forms. This typically includes questions about your health, any specific concerns or goals (like relaxation, pain relief, etc.), and any allergies or sensitivities.
-
Consultation: Before your treatment begins, you may have a brief consultation with your therapist. This allows them to understand what you're hoping to achieve from the session (varies depending on desired service).
-
Preparation for the Treatment: Depending on the service, you might be shown to a private room where you can change into appropriate attire (e.g., a robe or specific treatment clothes).
-
Treatment or Session: Whether it’s a massage, facial, energy work, or other healing practices, your therapist will guide you through the process. We might use techniques like aromatherapy, sound healing, or chakra balancing, depending on the holistic service.
-
Aftercare and Guidance: After your session, your therapist might offer suggestions for aftercare, such as drinking water, meditating, or stretching. They may also suggest ongoing treatments based on your experience and any goals you've shared.
How should I prepare for my first treatment?
Preparing for your first session at Sage & Selenite does not require much. We want you to come as you are! If you want to prepare in any way, here is a generalized guide to help you:
-
Arrive Early: Aim to arrive 15-20 minutes early to fill out any necessary forms, ask questions, and get settled in. This also allows you time to relax and transition into our calming atmosphere.
-
Hydrate: Drink plenty of water before your session. This helps your body respond better to treatments like massages or energy work and ensures you're well-hydrated.
-
Dress Comfortably: Wear loose, comfortable clothing, especially if you’re unsure of what to expect. Some services may require you to change into a robe or specific attire (like for a massage), but it’s best to be prepared for comfort as you embark on your relaxing journey.
-
Communicate Your Needs: Be open about any specific concerns or goals you have for the session (e.g., stress relief, muscle pain, energy balancing). Also, inform your therapist of any medical conditions, allergies, or sensitivities.
-
Set an Intention: Think about what you’d like to achieve from your session. Whether it’s relaxation, pain relief, or emotional healing, having a clear intention can help you focus on the benefits of the treatment.
-
Relax Your Mind: Take a moment before your treatment to center yourself. Practice deep breathing or mindfulness if needed to ease any nervousness or tension.
